Bio and Professional Background

Terry Jay Moody, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist with the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists. He specializes in treating children and adolescents as well as providing psychodiagnostics. He has worked with children, adolescents, young adults and families for 40 years. He provides evaluations for diagnosing ADHD, neurocognitive abilities and/or disabilities, psychological disorders including depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, autism spectrum disorders, school refusal, as well as personality disorders. Dr. Moody also provides individual and family psychotherapy for ages 11 through 25.  Dr. Moody’s education includes Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees in psychology. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship with the Karl Menninger School of Psychiatry and Mental Health Sciences in Topeka, Kansas. He is listed with the National Register of Health Service Psychologists. He has a Certificate of Professional Qualification in Psychology with the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB). He is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychotherapy (DABP). He is a member of the Dallas Psychological Association.  Dr. Moody spent ten years in Germany working as a clinical child psychologist with our U.S. military, their dependents as well as dependents of U.S. Army civilians.  

Dr. Moody has a deep fascination with ancient wonders such as the pyramids at Giza and Machu Picchu. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, creating art, and building Legos with his grandchildren. His favorite books include "Treasure Island," "The Old Man and the Sea," "Of Mice and Men," and "Crime and Punishment." Dr. Moody grew up in a unique family with two sets of twins and boasts an impressive heritage with an ancestor, John Morton, who signed the Declaration of Independence.
